Our roots are deep. Originally founded as a carbon plant in 1939 in St. Mary’s, Pennsylvania, we added powder metallurgy to our product mix in the early 1950s, when we began producing powder metal components. The carbon business still exists today manufacturing in the original location. Today, Catalus has two separate facilities to produce our powder metal products.
Three generations later, this family-owned and operated business has entered a new era as Catalus Corporation, a world-class, leading manufacturing and powder metallurgy company. 2018 began an important new chapter in the Catalus story, as we dedicated a portion of our Galeton facility to research and development. Back home in St. Mary’s, we started building a state-of-the-art production facility that strictly adheres to quality assurance standards. Our Galeton facility is IATF-16949 certified and our plans are to have the St. Marys facility certified to the same standard.
Over the past 80 + years, we have fostered a company culture that provides outstanding powder metal processes along with metallurgical engineering, top customer service and client collaboration. This has allowed us to grow along with our clients in a wide range of industries – from automotive to lawn and garden, marine, off road vehicle, and many others.
