The MPIF Test Methods Assurance Program (TMAP), is under the direction of the MPIF Standards Committee activity, it is a service unique to the Powder Metal (PM) Industry.

Catalus is IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 registered, TMAP was a welcomed answer to concerns for demonstrating the capability of our quality system. TMAP helps assure that our laboratory and our personnel are providing accurate measurements.

Catalus yearly participation and certification since 2004, is a way to ensure Catalus and our customers the accuracy of our density, hardness, and strength measurements. Catalus continues to have confidence the data reported, and decisions made are based on true and accurate information.

TMAP participation has demonstrated our testing capabilities, is a good measurement of how Catalus compares to competitors and the industry test method standards as a PM parts producer.

Catalus then sent the confidential results to a 3rd party Met-Lab. The Met-Lab performed a statistical analysis of the results and issued a confidential report to Catalus with their findings.

At the end of 2021, Catalus received a Test Methods Assurance Program (TMAP) certification for successfully demonstrating proficiency in the following PM test methods:

Density (MPIF Std. #42

Hardness (MPIF Std. #43

Carbon Content (MPIF Std. #66 & ASTN E1019)

Microindentation Hardness (MPIF Std. #51)
